Dust off your finest outfit and start practising your acceptance speech, ngoba the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) are officially heading back home! 😭🔥
The 32nd edition of the SAMAs will take place in the North West Province on 15 August 2026, marking what many are calling a historic and emotional homecoming for South Africa's biggest night in music.
And honestly? It just feels right. 😌
For years, North West has been the spiritual home of the SAMAs, hosting some of the most memorable moments in the awards' history. So when the announcement dropped, music lovers across Mzansi collectively said: "Yoh, we're going back!" 🎉
North West MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Galerekwe Tsotso Tlhapi, couldn't hide her excitement, describing the province as a proud host ready to welcome the nation once again.
And let's be honest — if there's one thing South Africans know how to do, it's turn a music awards ceremony into a national event 😭💃🏽
According to Unati Gwija, preparations are already in full swing, with organisers working closely with stakeholders to ensure this year's show is bigger, smoother, and louder than ever.
The return has already sparked major excitement across the entertainment industry, with fans eagerly waiting to see which artists will dominate the nominations, who will deliver unforgettable performances, and of course... who will have social media arguing all night long 😅
One thing is certain: SAMA 32 isn't just another awards show — it's a homecoming.
So mark 15 August 2026 on your calendar, because the Platinum Province is getting ready to host South Africa's biggest music celebration once again.
And if history has taught us anything, it's that when the SAMAs come home, the vibes are guaranteed. 🎶🔥🏆🇿🇦
