Ukhozi FM’s 2026 Line-Up Is Here — And Yoh, It’s Giving Main Character Energy

Hayi bo, Mzansi… if you thought your favourite station was chilling, think again! 😭
Ukhozi FM just pulled up with a fresh 2026 programming line-up, and let’s just say — things are about to get spicy on the airwaves. 🌶️

With over 7.5 million listeners (yes, that’s basically the whole neighbourhood and their cousins), the station is not here to play small. From 1 April 2026, it’s a whole new vibe — same soul, but upgraded like your fave iPhone after payday.

Breakfast Just Got a Glow-Up

If your mornings needed CPR, don’t worry — help has arrived.

Radio and TV personality Velani Mthembu (aka Vee) is teaming up with Nonhlanhla Buthelezi (Mroza) for the 06:00 – 09:00 breakfast show.

Translation?
Expect:

  • Energy 🔋
  • Vibes 💃🏽
  • And probably that one caller oversharing at 07:15 😭

Your mornings are officially sorted, sharp sharp.

Lunch Break = Groove Break

Midday slump? Not on their watch.

Siphesihle Shabalala (DJ SpheLive) and Zimiphi Biyela (Zimdollar) are taking over 12:00 – 15:00, and honestly… this combo is giving chaos but make it entertaining. 😌

Don’t be surprised if your “quick lunch break” turns into a full-on dance session in the office kitchen. HR will understand. Maybe.

Drive Time? Say Less!

Afternoons are about to hit different.

Sthandwa Nzuza joins Khathide Ngobe on Woza Nabangani Bakho (15:00 – 18:00) — and if you’re stuck in traffic, at least you’ll be stuck with vibes.

Because let’s be honest… Joburg traffic is stressful, but good radio? That’s therapy, my friend.

Night Owls, You’re Also Booked & Busy

Late nights (22:00 – 00:00) are going full music mode — less talk, more tunes.

Perfect for:

  • Overthinkers 🌚
  • Late-night drivers 🚗
  • Or those “let me just check one thing” people who end up awake till midnight 😭

Also, Friday nights? DJ Mafresh said we’re not sleeping. At all.

New Talent? Oh, They’re Coming Through!

Ukhozi FM is not gatekeeping success — they’re opening doors! 🚪✨

Through initiatives like the Winnie Mahlangu programme and the Siyayijika Lento campaign, fresh voices like:

  • Zama Mseleku
  • Nozipho Zulu
  • Sphiwe Sibiya

are stepping into the spotlight — and honestly, we love to see it. The future is sounding very bright (and very loud 😌).

A Legend Signs Off

Not everything is hype and vibes — there’s also a moment to give flowers 💐

After 27 years of service, Mandla Mdletshe is retiring. Yoh. A whole legend.

From Jazz to agriculture programming (yes, even that!), his contribution shaped Ukhozi FM into the powerhouse it is today.

We’re not crying… you’re crying.

Final Word: Same Ukhozi, New Heat!

Ukhozi FM is doing what it does best — leading from the front (Luhamba Phambili, period!).

This new line-up is:

  • Fresh 🌊
  • Youthful ⚡
  • And still deeply rooted in the culture 🇿🇦

So whether you’re a day-one listener or just tuning in now… one thing is clear:

The airwaves are about to be lit. Properly. 🔥

Set your alarms, fix your frequencies, and don’t act surprised when you’re suddenly addicted again.

Because in Mzansi, we don’t just listen to radio…
we live it. 📻😌
